About the Library Department

The Library & Textbook Department of Livingston Parish Schools plays a vital role in supporting student learning across the district. Our school libraries are more than just places to access books—they are vibrant, student-centered learning spaces that foster exploration, collaboration, and academic growth.

Each library is equipped to support instruction through a variety of digital and print resources. Tools like World Book Online and EBSCO provide students with access to reliable research platforms, helping them build critical thinking and information literacy skills. With full internet access available in all libraries, students and teachers can easily engage with high-quality instructional materials and digital content.

In addition to our library services, the textbook department ensures that all students have access to Tier 1 curriculum materials, which are essential to delivering high-quality instruction. These resources are carefully selected to align with state standards and support rigorous, grade-level learning across all subjects. By providing consistent, research-based materials, we help ensure that every student in Livingston Parish has the tools they need to succeed academically.

Our libraries and textbook services work hand-in-hand to create environments where students can thrive—whether they’re reading for pleasure, conducting research, or engaging with core instructional content.
